FAQ for Camp Stoney Meadows in Big Bend California:
This was an excellent place to camp! We loved the creek right next to the site — it was wider than I expected and so peaceful. The swimming hole was absolutely amazing, and the bathrooms were very clean. The shared kitchen with a microwave and fridge was a huge plus, and pizza night was a lot of fun — a great chance to meet and chat with other campers. The little pond with the pedal boat was a big hit with the kids, and all the campsites were nicely shaded, which made our stay even more comfortable. The picnic tables looked newer and were very convenient, and the wild blackberries around the sites were delicious!
This is a pretty cool campground with amenities (kitchen, flush toilets etc)The host fired up the wood fire pizza oven and we all got to make pizzas from scratch which was amazing.I recommend camping here. Just don’t forget to bring insect and mosquito repellent.
We stayed two nights just this weekend and it was everything the reviews say and more! Scott the camp host and owner, is a superb guy and has a great sense of humor. He hand delivered the best scones on this earth, homemade with cherries from his garden and so fresh. The family lodge we stayed in was clean, had everything we needed and was so cozy. There is a huge working farm and a garden full of veggies and fruit that they generously let you pick from. It was 1 mile from the hot springs and it happened to sprinkle a little which felt incredibly good with the hot water. We felt so taken care of and enjoyed ourselves very much, we will back soon. We didn’t take our kids this time but we plan to bring the whole family next time! Thanks again Scott and Nora 🤍
Pretty cool campground with awesome hosts!
Early July 2023: Camp Stoney Meadows is absolutely heavenly. Perfect cool campsites under shady trees, right by the idyllic shallow creek (weather was hot when we came). The owners are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. On busy Saturdays, they fire up the pizza oven and you can bring your own dough and toppings. Added to that is the private swimming hole, and the hot springs a short drive up the road. A shared kitchen, bbq & stove, plus real restroom and shower were much appreciated. Also, close enough to do a full day out to Burney Falls and Lassen National Park.
