We went to the Bernalillo Indian Art Festival. Sadly, it was not well advertised so attendance was down. We were sad that these artists traveled from other states to show their wares and had hoped for more business especially after the pandemic. The jewelry was beautiful and we bought some. There were photographs and paintings and textiles as well. The highlight of our visit was Tony and his daughters doing the Hoop Dance. He is a 6 time world champion and he is amazing. His youngest daughter showed great spirit and enthusiasm and his older daughter was graceful and very pretty. Tony also played the reverse flute beautifully.
They had a Native American Art Show there today. Fun and many excellent artists. It’s a small little park on a non-dairy day as far as I could tell, behind a Catholic church. Goggle is wrong when they direct u to the turn off from the main road. It takes u to an apartment complex. The entrance is about a block further up the road.
Great place for a parade in Bernalillo, just north of Albuquerque!
