The park features open spaces and beautiful water views. While parking is available onsite, please note that the lot is somewhat rustic and feels remote, as you access the park through industrial surroundings. The area is known for its serene atmosphere, making it ideal for those who appreciate uncrowded adventures. Heron Park is still evolving and being improved by the town of Berlin, giving hope for enhanced amenities in the future.
Fantastic 4th of July fireworks display, very relaxed setting, had amazing view right from the parking lot. Highly organized as well, appreciate the police presence keeping vehicles organized & pedestrians safe
Good to walk dogs. Been here 45 minutes and saw 3 other people. 2 with dogs and one alone. Oops make that 4. 3 with dogs 1 without. Now 2 more people just walking. It is really quite deserted and desolate looking. The water areas are pretty but there is no way to help someone if they fell in. A lot of industrial scrap around.
The park looked beautiful but the parking and surrounding area near parking made me feel really unsafe. I only walked for 10 minutes; I felt really isolated so I turned back. To enter park you turn in between abandoned buildings and park in a very rustic area. I would definitely not go alone.
Great pack looks weird when u first enter because it’s all the way in the back of a building but it’s nice has a lot of different lakes the trail is straight and easy it was nice and quiet will come back
Kind of sad, but we biked around all 3 ponds. I guess the town is still working
on repairing the damage from the Tyson plant. The water is odd, a weird slimy green, but we saw 3 turtles and a heron. Praying it can be rehabilitated. The signs were interesting and helpful to understand the eerie feeling of damaged land.
