Ohlone Dog Park is a well-loved, fully enclosed dog park in Berkeley, CA, offering spacious and separate play areas for both small and large dogs. Centrally located at 1800 Hearst Ave, this dog-friendly park is a staple for local dog owners seeking a safe, sociable, and pet-friendly place to let their dogs run free. The park includes wheelchair accessible entrances and parking, making it inclusive for visitors with mobility needs.
With plenty of room for dogs to enjoy off-leash fun, Ohlone Dog Park features bark mulch ground cover instead of grass, helping to keep pups cleaner even after some energetic play. Pet parents will appreciate amenities like picnic tables, shaded seating areas, water stations with bowls, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Friendly regulars and their pups help make the environment especially inviting. Additionally, the park is noted for its easy access to nearby parking, though visitors should remain aware of the park’s urban setting.
Great park with plenty of good people and dogs to play with. Good sized area for the dogs to run around and play, water station with bowls and water fill area. Only downside is all the homeless people living in tents directly surrounding the park who sometimes can be disruptive.
Cool park to bring your dog. The whole park is safely enclosed for your dog to run around. Tanbark terrain
Used needles right outside of the small dog park. Maybe get a dumpster for the encampment so this doesn’t keep happening.
It’s fine. A sweet little dog park with enough room for the fur babies to run around and their humans to either sit privately or connect. During my visit it hearkened to be all lady humans. Some were enjoying their quiet time, others were receptive to small talk and sharing puppy play time.
Separate fenced areas for little and larger dogs.
Overall a good experience.
I love this place. The little dog park and big dog park are nice and well maintained, most of the time, and there are always very nice people and dogs there. I’ve rarely come in contact with anyone who has been rude or their dogs have been uncontrollable. The entire ground in the big dog park is bark mulch which is a surprisingly good replacement for wet grass and dirt… Though it can get pretty dirty if the dogs are rolling all over the place in it.
