🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Situated in Bedminster, New Jersey, the Bedminster Hike and Bikeway offers a paved, pet-friendly trail ideal for dog owners looking for a leisurely stroll or a pleasant walk with their furry friends. While this is not a traditional off-leash dog park, it is a popular spot for dog-friendly hiking with easy-to-follow paved paths. The trail is mostly surrounded by wooded areas but does run adjacent to highways 287 and 206 at certain points, so expect occasional traffic noise.
Visitors have noted that the entrance and parking situation can be confusing. The most accessible free parking is available at Burnt Mills Park, which is about a five-minute drive from the listed address, or at Miller Lane Park. The Bedminster Bikeway is appreciated for its smooth trails and proximity to local parks, although it may not offer an immersive nature getaway due to nearby highways. Remember to keep your dog leashed and be aware that there are no designated fenced or separated off-leash areas here.

legit could not find the entrance to the trail. we went to the address that was listed with this link and ended up in some private development. then we read the website that said it was on the corner of elm and main and it was indeed not there. then we drove down elm and found a park and pulled in there. we finally found the sign for the trail but once we went down that path 100 feet we ended up at school and of course it was right during dismissal and there were children and cars everywhere and no sign of a continued path so we just gave up and left. it looked beautiful from the pics online tho lol. wish we could of done it. either we suck at directions or that was just unnecessarily difficult to find. please add a direct location of where to start for us out of towners!

What a confusing place to park, and I see others had the same issue! This is the residential part of the Bikeway with residential parking only, the free parking is at the South end of the trail located at Burnt Mills Park. It’s about 5 minutes away from this address and there’s free parking and a playground there!
It’s a lovely paved trail, but I wouldn’t say this is the best place to feel surrounded by nature since it’s right next to the highway.
