This is a fantastic park! Lots of walking paths, a real restrooms with hot running water, a butterfly garden and one of the most creative playgrounds I’ve ever seen! It’s very dog friendly as long as you keep them on leashes. The playground is made entirely out of large sticks and logs. I know that doesn’t sound like much but it is very creative and they have put them together in fun and entertaining ways. Lots of cravings and the kids can run around and play hard on the study creations.
Great hiking place for family! And a playground for kids too!
This park took a direct hit from a tornado on Memorial Day of 2019. A lot of work has been done to clean up and improve the park. The Russ house is gone now, but the PlayScape has been greatly improved. The trails have also been greatly improved with crushed rock and stairs. The park has a very nice network of trails. It also has a high fence garden and small pond. They keep improving the trails and the Playscape…well worth a visit. It is also a good place to see how the forest recovers from a direct tornado strike.

Very nice and well kept reserve! Trails are top notch for walking or running. Features include a community garden, a lovely playground, a birdwatching blind, some beehives, and modern restrooms. I’d love to visit again once the vegetation grows in.
