Bayport Beach is a small, charming beach park in Bayport, NY, perfect for a peaceful day out. It features a pirate ship playground popular with toddlers, beautiful views of the Great South Bay and Fire Island, and a cozy, private atmosphere. The park offers free parking and has a couple of children’s play areas, though some playground equipment is old or broken. The beach is small and affected by erosion, with typically few visitors, making it a serene spot for sunbathing, meditation, or picnics. Water swimming is not ideal beyond knee depth due to seaweed and debris.

I hope this hidden gem stays this way: private, clean, peaceful and filled with beauty!!! We stumbled upon it accidentally and plan to keep this out little secret spot for a picnic or to just sit and watch the sunset.

Nice, cute, pirate ship park but small.
Upside: free to park. Access to playground and Bay with small gazeebo. Adjacent to boat docks and pier.
Downside: beach is so small due to erosion. Its gross, seaweed n idk what else all over it with sand fleas and dead crabs everywhere. There are 2 sides of playground split by parking lot, encouraging kids to run through a parking lot. The West side of playground features a slide thats stilllll broken for some time, old swings and 2 dinosaurs to climb on. Its all unfenced and by the water so keep a close eye on your kids. I would prefer to use a pool or go in the ocean then use this Bay water to swim in… Id say dont go in past your knees. Bleh!
Upside: if you are there to lay on the beach and get some sun there is not a lot of people I need to park close to your car if you need anything. It has a nice beautiful view of the a Great South Bay and fire island. The pirate ship side of the park is somewhat new. Parking is free.

I have not been to this park in many years. Forgot it was even there and I that is the point of such a place. I was here late in the day 4pm and there were minimal amount of people there. the wind was also kicking out of the east. very chilly for a August day. the dog that sticks out into the bay a little has bait cutting stations as well as rod holders attached to the rails. Nice feature if you like to bait and wait. Took a Nice little stroll along the canal to see the boats. only spent 15 minutes there but really enjoyed the park. There is a little book library there as well right behind the sign.
