If you’re looking for a dog-friendly park in Batavia, New York, Lions Park offers a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city. The park is well-known for its expansive grassy areas, paved walking trails, and the natural beauty of hundred-year-old trees, making it ideal for dog owners seeking scenic walks or a quick stroll with their pets. With plenty of open space and shaded spots, it’s a favorite among locals who appreciate the park’s calm ambience and safety—even for evening visits.
Lions Park is more than just a green space; it features amenities like a covered pavilion, restrooms (including wheelchair accessibility), plenty of parking, and a playground for families. There’s also access to fishing spots and hiking or biking trails, with reviews highlighting peaceful walks, picturesque sunsets, and the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. While there isn’t a designated dog run or fenced area for off-leash play, it remains a top choice for dog-friendly hiking and pet owners searching for a relaxing spot in Batavia or a scenic area for dog walking.
Used the youth softball field for an 8U game. Field looked ok. Could use a bit of painting and a power wash but facilities were in good repair.
Nice park with plenty of parking. Went to a softball game there and the field was nice.
Came for a softball game. Other than the trains coming through the park is in good shape.
We rented Lions Park for a combo family event celebrating the end of my Momma’s journey here on this earth and the beginning of my granddaughter’s journey into adulthood (graduation). We really like this park. The trains can get annoying if you let them, but we choose to enjoy the ambience they lend to the day. The park has bathrooms, (including a wheelchair accessible third bathroom), electricity, a pavilion,a playground, lots of grass for games and generally plenty of parking. I say generally because unbeknownst to us there were football games there all day and the constant flow of cars used every available parking space and then some. Guests who came late had to park down the road which was okay for the younger ones, not so much for elderly friends and relatives. Overall though I Would definitely rent this park again.
Rented the pavilion here for my son’s 3rd birthday party. Plenty of space to host a gathering. There are also grills, restrooms and a playground area.
