Dog Park
Dog Park in Barre, VT offers a fenced space with separate areas for small and large dogs, along with covered benches for seating. The park is somewhat isolated near a school and accessed via walking trails. Although it has grass and shade structures, the park is currently not maintained with no water, poop bags, or trash bins available. Parking can be challenging, and small dog area accessibility is limited due to vegetation overgrowth.

Nice for your pooch to srretch out , but only a tiny shelter for shade. No trees! Also need to walk a bit from school atea, kind of isolated!
Park at the high/middle school and take the bike path walking out of the lot to your left, then take the second dirt path on the right off of the paved bike path. Very clean big well kept park!
Hard to find parking, especially if two vehicles are already there. The entrance is along the walking trail and the street, but you have to park at the electrical station. Big park is used by a lot of small dog owners, so don’t expect small or big dogs to be separated.
My first impression is that this place is pretty well taken care of. Of the many states I’ve lived in and the dog parks we’ve tried, this one has a fence without holes and actually has grass. It’s a short walk from the school but it’s not inconvenient because it lets my pup have a warm-up and cooldown walk. There’s two areas for different sized dogs and each has a covered bench area. The only downside is that there isn’t enough foot traffic for Google to say when the park is usually active or what the best time to go is. This was my first time here and on a Holiday, but nobody else came to play with my fluffy butt.
Park is technically closed. No one is caring for it. There are no bags, no trash, no water, and the grass is not mowed.
That being said, a number of people still use the park space. The fences are still there along with the gates and the shade structure
The small dog side is, however, most unusable, since there are weed trees growing in front of its gate
