Bubble Pond Carriage Road Trailhead: A Dog-Friendly Gem in Bar Harbor, Maine

Bubble Pond Carriage Road Trailhead is a must-visit for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts exploring Bar Harbor, Maine. Located inside the stunning Acadia National Park, this peaceful trailhead is known for its pet-friendly hiking options and family-friendly atmosphere. The flat trail runs along the picturesque Bubble Pond, providing scenic views and plenty of room for both walkers and bicyclists, making it an ideal destination for a casual stroll or a more adventurous bike ride with your furry companion.

While dogs are welcome on the trails, it’s important to keep them leashed, as some reviews note that not all visitors adhere to this rule. The area offers a tranquil experience due to its lesser crowds, especially as parking can be limited and might be closed to cars during peak season (summer/early fall) when the Island Explorer shuttle is servicing the area. Since the park is good for kids and connects to more intense bike trails, it’s a great spot for the whole family to enjoy acadia’s natural beauty and dog-friendly hiking.

Bubble Pond was the hi-light of our visit to Acadia National Park. There was a flat trail that followed the entire length of the pond. It was very peaceful as few people visited, just a few passing bicyclists.

Great trail. Nice and peaceful even though there was a lot of bike riders but plenty of room to walk . Only set back was some walkers did not have their dogs on leash.
