Nice little trail!
This is a pretty area for a quick loop hike. Looks like it had been ready to have houses put in before becoming a park. Great save.
Although I’ve been here several times, this was my first visit in the late Spring. A nice walk thru field & stream along Martin’s Creek.
I can’t speak for the fishing but my Brother in-law says it’s great but as for the trail and walking it’s close to home and the perfect spot to take the dogs to go burn off energy and enjoy the weather, the big downfall is today I ran into an incident where I was letting my dogs swim in the stream and another person was up on the trail and saw me from more than 150 feet away and had his dog off leash and continued to come towards me so I put my dog back on leash as soon as I saw him and stood still as I was down hill from him, we made eye contact as he came closer while his dog was 20 feet from him and he had not tried recalling his dog at all, the man made eye contact with me, still no recall, I said call your dog back, no answer, next thing I know his dog is running down the hill at my dogs, luckily my two dogs are well trained and behaved and stayed with me and just stayed calm, I yelled at the man to get his dog and to get away from me and my dogs and to never let this happen again, he swore he didn’t see me even though we locked eyes and I was wearing bright colored clothing. This man had a brindle colored dog looked to be a boxer mix with a blue collar which I assume he frequents this park, older gentleman so keep your eyes out he has no control over his dog or care for others. If you can not recall your dog or have any type of training with your dog do not put other people in a terrible situation due to your bad choices. LEASH YOUR DOG
Just found out about this new trail along Martin’s Creek; it has a main paved trail & a few grassy side paths that divert towards the hillside. It’s a nice walk through field & stream.
