Lions Park in Bangor, MI, is a locally loved green space known for its pet-friendly atmosphere and scenic charm. With its easy access, open areas, and well-maintained trails beside a flowing stream, this park is a favorite for dog owners looking for a relaxing walk, a play area for their pets, or simply to enjoy Bangor’s beautiful outdoors. Picnic tables and a pavilion with plenty of seating make it perfect for family gatherings or lunch with your furry companion. The park also offers great birdwatching and fishing opportunities, especially during the salmon run.
A true gem among dog parks in Bangor, the park provides wheelchair accessibility and is noted for its cleanliness and regular maintenance. Although restrooms are present, they may be locked outside of events, and there are plenty of parking spaces available. Shaded picnic areas and nature trails with bridges and picturesque views add to the experience for both you and your pup. While the park is welcoming to dogs (leashed), please note there is no specific fenced dog area or off-leash zone.
Has a pavilion with several picnic tables, nice place to have your family gatherings. Fishing or taking a stroll in the woods through the path is an option. Always cleaned and mowed. Has bathroom facilities but building is locked 24/7. Most likely available if requested for gathering or event. Plenty of parking space. Plenty of open area to play a friendly softball game or football. Actually the only thing I see that would be nice would be a little play area for younger children like a swing a slide etc.
Great place to eat lunch or walk the dog while seeing fish running up the stream !
