Discover Brown Woods, a peaceful dog-friendly hiking destination in Bangor, Maine. This scenic spot is known for its well-maintained and easy-to-navigate trails, offering pet owners a tranquil getaway just minutes from downtown. Brown Woods is especially popular among locals for its beautiful trails—about 0.6 miles for a single loop, with options to extend your walk for more exercise. You’ll find benches along the pathways if you or your pup need a rest, and the sound of wildlife and glimpses of water make every visit memorable.
The park welcomes dogs on the trails and provides waste bags to help keep the area clean. While there isn’t a dedicated off-leash or fenced area, Brown Woods makes up for it with its serene surroundings, convenient small parking lot (which usually has spaces available), and the availability of benches for owners to relax. If you’re searching for a pet-friendly trail or a dog walk in Bangor, Brown Woods is an excellent spot for a natural escape close to the city.
Nice easy trails to navigate. If u follow down through the trail there is even a spot you can see the water. Very peaceful. I saw benches on the trails if you need to stop and take a break. Dog friendly. I see many people walk their dogs here. No bathroom. They do have bags for picking up after your dogs. A small parking lot as well. I have never had a problem finding parking here.
Peaceful, trails are well maintained, it is a nice get away close to town. Not a very long walk but what it has to offer is still very nice.
Nice, very quiet and peaceful. Trails are about . 6 miles but you can walk the outer loop trail a few times to get more exercise.
Today was my first time walking the trail here. The trail was very well maintained and there are geochaches for those who are interested. It’s a beautiful location and quiet for a nice getaway from the city for half an hour to hour.
Our first time going there and it was an awesome experience the trail is very nice a lot of different options and doesn’t even seem like you’re in the middle of a city while walking through it’s very peaceful and I highly recommend this place for a quick getaway and some beautiful wildlife!
