If you’re searching for a top-rated dog park in Bakersfield, California, Centennial Dog Park is a fantastic choice. Conveniently located near the 58 and 99 freeways, this pet-friendly park features a large, fully fenced grassy area perfect for dogs of all sizes to run and play off-leash. Local dog owners appreciate the expansive space, clean grounds, and easy accessibility—including wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking.
While the park offers concrete benches for seating, there is limited shade, so it’s best to visit during cooler times of day, especially in summer. Waste bags are provided, and there are well-maintained open areas for energetic pups. Centennial Dog Park is adjacent to larger park amenities, including a playground and picnic facilities, making it a great spot for families and their furry friends.
Great dog park. Just a huge, fenced in field with nice grass. Limited amenities, but still a favorite place to go in Bakersfield.
Expansive park, no separate small dog area but shouldn’t matter because of the large size. It could get muddy here during storms as the landscape is bowl. No benches or shade for people, but convenient from the 58 or the 99 freeways.
My doggies love getting out and coming to play with the other dogs here, everyone we have come across is respectful and responsible for their pups. All gated in, people are good about closing the gates behind them. The city recently took out the metal bench tables which I liked. They put in some nice concrete benches now, which look better but not as much seating.
It was clean. I liked how big an open it is. They had “bags” for your dogs when/if they made a mess. I always carry some, cause many places do not keep their supply stocked.
I loved this dog park. It was so big and my dogs had fun chasing the ball. Only drawback was the lack of shade. It would be tough on the dogs if we came here during summer. Other than that, one of the best dog parks I’ve visited.
