If you’re searching for scenic, pet-friendly trails in Bainbridge, Ohio, Cedar Run Trailhead offers a memorable hiking experience for nature enthusiasts and their leashed dogs. Nestled within the Arc of Appalachia nature preserves, this trail is known for its beautiful woodland paths, meadows with native grasses, rock formations, and a picturesque waterfall. The trail is well-maintained and clearly marked, making it ideal for adventurous dog owners seeking a peaceful getaway.
While there are no dedicated off-leash or fenced dog park amenities, dogs are welcome on-leash as you explore the winding trails and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The Trailhead is also family-friendly with hikes suitable for kids. Please note there are no restroom or water facilities, and the parking lot is small (fits 6–7 cars), so plan your visit accordingly.

Beautiful walk through a forest, followed by a meadow of Indian grass and goldenrod in the fall to a forest lined with high rock faces and a waterfall. Lots of climbs and descents.
Part of Arc of Appalachia nature preserves, Cedar Run Trail is a great hike. The trail is well maintained and marked. Along the creek the trail becomes narrow as it makes it’s way into some beautiful areas of rock formations, a small waterfall and scenic views of the gorge and creek. There aren’t any amenities and the parking area is only big enough for 6 – 7 cars.
