A very serene and tranquil beach. It’s very clean, not as crowded as other Long Island beaches. There is ample parking with clean restrooms and concession stands. Great for walks or just spend the day in water or sunbathing. You can walk all the way to the Light House at Fire Island and beyond walking on this beach. We love walking here.
A wonderful jewel on the south shore of Long Island. Driving over the bridges you remember why Long Island is a beautiful place to live. Something for everyone- surfing and fishing at field 2 and the lighthouse and fire island just east of field 5. Beach is clean and the sand is nice.
On a hot July day, my family escaped to Robert Moses State Park Beach, not far from New York City. It was about an hour’s drive from Manhattan. We brought blankets, chairs, and an umbrella, marking our spot that was less crowded. The beach was lovely, with people playing volleyball. The facilities were good, with bathrooms, showers, and a lifeguard on duty. Although the water had strong currents and red flags warned of danger, we still enjoyed the beach and watched a beautiful sunset. I highly recommend this spot for a relaxing beach day getaway.
I love Robert Moses! We are frequent visitors there. Today definitely disappointed us.
Many of the parking lots were closed.
It left the remaining parking lot VERY over crowded. After we circled a few times and found a spot we walked to the overcrowded beach.
With many local beaches closed for bacteria issues and the predicted heat, RM should have done more to provide more space along the beaches.
The bathrooms and showers were amazingly CLEAN!! GREAT job there!!
At Robert Moses field 5. There is a nice playground for kiddos, the beach is beautiful. You can also use the wooden path to walk over to the lighthouse. Highly recommend a day at this beach. NULL.00 entrance fee or use Empire passport
