🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Found Land Park, located on St. Michael’s Court in Avon, Connecticut, offers a serene setting for pet owners and their furry friends to explore. The park is known for its quiet, peaceful environment and pet-friendly trails, making it a popular choice for dog walking and hiking. While the trails are surrounded by nature, visitors should note that the markings can be inconsistent and the trails may feel less maintained, especially off-season.
Although local leash laws require dogs to remain leashed, some owners allow their dogs off-leash on the trails. The park does not feature a fenced dog run or separate areas for small and large dogs, so it’s important for owners to keep a close eye on their pets, particularly around other dogs. Visitors are advised to check for ticks after their visit, and to be mindful of the park’s maintenance conditions. For those seeking a natural escape with their dog, Found Land Park provides scenic, tranquil trails, but it may not be as developed or secure as some other nearby dog parks.
Maybe this review caught Found Land Park off season, but it was not in the best shape. There are faint, infrequent markings on trees to indicate a trail, but underfoot the trail is scarcely blazed, which leaves hikers just trudging over brush. Nor were any landmarks sighted, or anything distinctive, leaving an unchanging landscape. The park is serene, though.

Residents take advantage of this park and do not follow leash laws. My dog was attacked by three off leash dogs with a local resident. Two yellow labs and one chocolate lab (Archie). Avoid if you have a dog.
