Wonderful small town memorial. No large gates or signs. It’s right on 43 and easy to miss, if you’re not from the area and expecting more park infrastructure than what’s actually present. No cost. Limited parking along park entrance road close to the monuments. Additional parking a couple hundred yards beyond. Monuments are on level ground with/from parking; wheelchair accessible. Beautiful markers, particularly notable are the individual tablets commemorating service members from each of the World Wars. Behind the flagpoles lies a long low Vietnam Wall-style monument commemorating service members from the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, OIF/OEF, and more. Organization is mixed; by conflict, alphabetically, and/or chronologically at times. Others, which appear to be later additions, are batched by family surname. There are names missing (some of my family’s included), but plenty of space to add them. I’ll research the process. Plenty of space too, unfortunately, for our fallen in the future.
