This is an absolutely beautiful forest, peaceful and safe. There are many trails to explore. I didn’t see any animals except for birds but, when I was there, it was so quiet, it was almost eery. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to write in a journal, take pictures 📸 or even a nap in peace and quiet. Enjoy.

Fun hiking. Once we got oriented the trails were a breeze. Signage and trail blazes were adequate. Nice QR code interactives at the trailhead kiosk, virtual and paper trail map options, virtual geology tour, trailside engagement prompts…and a StoryWalk on the accessible trail to boot. Kudos to the community forest group.

What a lovely community forest.

I stumbled upon this while in town and am very thankful for not only the trails but also for everything being well-maintained and for dogs being allowed on the trails.

There’s even a community book share right by the restroom.

The only negative I experienced was on the Ridge trail. It is basically in someone’s backyard at one part, and the man stood on the side of the house and stared me and my dog down the ENTIRE time we were in eye shot even though she was on a leash and we were minding our own business. It was uncomfortable, and it felt like he was trying to intimidate me. I wouldn’t recommend that particular trail. What a creep. There are plenty others to choose from.

Excellent trails through varied environments. One portion was flooded, the Big Beaver Bog Trail, but in fairer weather it might be more passable. The bog near the parking area, Little Beaver Bog, is the perfect spot for Alder Flycatchers.
