FAQ for Auburn Lake Nature Trail South Trailhead in Auburn ME:
Great place to get an honest exercise walk, did 5 miles total, two and half to and back.Several side trails down to the water. Most enjoyable and I saw a snake 😃😯
Decent …it’s a walk or bike ride down a pathway next to the river. Good surface to run on. But not a true trail hike as it doesn’t go through the woods. There may be a trail that branches off that does though.
Lovely trail through the woods along the lake that offers scenic views. Very spacious, flat, and wide path. Dog friendly with bags and trash cans at the entrance of the trail. There were some water access points but there are also private beaches and other areas to be wary of. Parking is super limited here, lots of signs that say “no parking” so I imagine the neighbors get a little fed up. Plan accordingly?
Easy going nature walk by the lake. Not far out from city center so travel there is pretty quick. Smaller trails from the main trail will bring you to waters edge which is wonderful any time of year.
Great walk any time of year. Make sure to check for ticks depending the season. Found this cool rock hidden
