Knox Park is a popular spot for local dog owners seeking a pet-friendly park in Athens, TN. The park features a spacious area where dogs can run and play, making it a great destination for those looking for a place for their pups to burn off energy. With easy parking and wheelchair accessibility, it’s convenient for all visitors, including families and individuals with mobility needs.
While the park provides some conveniences like poop bags and picnic tables, visitors should be aware that the water fountain may not always be functional, so bringing your own water is recommended. There’s limited shade for hot days, and maintenance can sometimes be an issue, so it’s important to watch your step and be prepared for potential cleanup lapses. Despite some drawbacks, Knox Park remains a pet-friendly outdoor area that’s improving over time and is appreciated by those seeking a community spot to enjoy with their dogs in Athens, TN.
Not all that great. Parking was easy enough. Pretty good sized park for the puppers to run around. And they do provide poo bags. That’s where the pros end. The water fountain is trash. If you’re gonna be there a while, I’d recommend bringing water. Barely any shade. People apprently either dont know that they should pick up after their dogs. Or they simply dont care. So watch your step. Also, there are no bathrooms in the dog park area.
Nice and spacious for your furry babies to run and play safely.
Used to skateboard here as a kid, haven’t really been back since until recently with my dog. It’s definitely cleaner and better vibes than it used to be.
This park is a working process…. however I was happy and surprised to see the pictures of the firefighters in Athens Tn. This is a old photo and the younger gentleman and the end of front row is my late grandfather…… Wilburn Tillman McDonald aka Hoot.
The park is not maintained at all. The pond is blocked off by a gate you have to walk around to get to the one access point. This park made me feel like I was going to get robbed. DO NOT RECOMMEND
