If you’re searching for a spacious, friendly, and dog-centered spot in Athens, New York, look no further than Athens Bunker Hill Dog Park. Featuring a large, fully fenced area, this dog park offers plenty of room for your furry friends to run, play, and socialize. The park is accessible by a short wooded trail and boasts a peaceful atmosphere—perfect for a fun outing with your pup.
The park provides thoughtful amenities including benches (some shaded beneath a pavilion), water bowls, poop bags, trash bins, and even a communal toy chest for endless play. While there’s a water fill station at the entrance (note: the water pump is off in winter), owners may want to bring extra water during colder months. With a convenient location and accessibility features, Athens Bunker Hill Dog Park stands out as one of the most pet-friendly spots in Greene County for dogs and their owners.
Yay for the park! Great open space with a fence for dogs to run in. Other owners are friendly and the whole area is very pleasant. Lots of toys to play fetch with available in the bin in the park. Remember that the water pump is shut off in the winter so bring your own until it gets warm again.
Though I don’t have a lot of experience in dog parks, the Athens Bunker Hill dog parks strikes me as a great place to bring dogs. The fenced-in area is wide open, with a lot of space for dogs to run. There are three benches for people to sit, two of which are under a small pavilion. There are bowls to offer dogs water and a spot to fill plastic gallon jugs with water on the way in. There are also usually tennis balls lying around in case you happen to forget to bring one of your own. Overall, the facilities are really solid. The lack of having water right at the fenced area is inconvenient, but overall this dog park should provide you and your pup everything you need: a safe place to play, exercise, and possibly interact with other dogs, though you’ll often find that you and your pooch have the entire space to yourselves.
This dog park is a hidden gem. It’s fenced-in and spacious, has toys provided—and water delivered in for owners who forget.
Really cute park! There’s a little pond when you first enter in with some benches on the right and the entrance is all the way behind it. It can get kind of muddy, but the dogs loved running around and playing with the toys there. It was clean and a good time!
Nice dog park. Short trail through wooded area leads to a large fenced in area. Jugs and fresh water available, poop bags, trash bins, even a chest of toys. Benches and a shaded area for human companions.
