Ashland Field

Ashland Field is a spacious and accessible park featuring a well-maintained soccer pitch, basic but sufficient facilities, and parking that is free though with a somewhat tight entrance/exit. It is wheelchair accessible and offers scenic rolling paths around the nearby reservoir, making it a great spot for dog walking and socializing. While dogs are welcome to roam and socialize, activities like flying drones are prohibited. The area is respected by visitors and has a natural, open setting.

I’ve walked our dogs here for 43 years. People are respectful with their animals. It gives animals a chance to socialize and run.

Great spot to hike and walk your dog. The woods has rolling paths around the reservoir. The parking is free.

How to book this field to play cricket

It appears the field has changed ownership and how they block off parking at all the entrances but people still park in the Warren woods lot, cross the street and walk their dogs there or whatever. It also can be directly accessed from the Ashland State Park which runs alongside the field.
On one occasion I was attempting to fly my drone and was apprehended almost immediately by a maintenance person who puffed out his chest and told me I wasn’t allowed to fly there but gave no reason why. Dog walkers seem to be allowed, but drones flying around in a huge empty space is prohibited. Kind of a huge waste of space in my humble opinion.

Facilities are basic but sufficient. Soccer pitch is in pretty good shape, the bleachers are a bit old and rickety. Parking is also adequate, although the entrance/exit is a bit tight. There is a porta-potty for emergencies.
