Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Eastgate Park offers one of the most spacious and well-kept dog parks in the Ashford, Alabama region. Known for its friendly community and abundance of open space, the park features fenced areas specifically for dogs (including separate spaces for small and large breeds), plenty of covered pavilions for shade, and a welcoming atmosphere for both first-time and regular visitors. Whether you’re looking for a place to let your pup run off-leash or hoping to meet fellow dog lovers, Eastgate Park is a top choice.
Beyond the dog park, Eastgate also provides family-friendly amenities like playgrounds, a fishing pond with shaded areas, restroom facilities, and beautiful pet-friendly trails and boardwalks for walking. The park’s location, affordable access, and active visitor base make it a favorite for local dog owners seeking a blend of recreation and relaxation in a pet-friendly environment.
Beautiful park every time we come here. Love it here! Please repair the board walk. It has been broke for way too long. Please stop letting the lake get so nasty that people can’t fish in it. And please stop cutting down all the trees and putting the disc frisbee where people walk. Really this park needs a redo!
I was looking for a dog park to take my pup and Eastgate has the best one in the area! They have two areas depending on the size of your dog and it’s very expansive (as you can see in the pictures). They also have a fishing pond that I like to partake in:) I believe there’s archery, frisbee games and trails as well! I’ll be venturing into those amenities soon.
We brought our great dane puppy! Big, clean, nice looking park! First time we went there were easily 20-30 dogs at its peak and it didn’t feel at all full or crowded.
We will definitely be back!
I was shocked at how big and well kept this place was. It has tons of covered pavilions, bathrooms, board walks with a beautiful creek, a playground for the kids, an area for fishing and dog friendly! We only covered one side of eastgate so we didn’t get to see the other side. The pond has an area under a huge tree that you can sit and relax out of the sun. We enjoyed every minute of it.
Huge dog park, super friendly dogs and humans. Love coming here
