FAQ for Southern Tails Dog School in Asheboro North Carolina:
My dog Atlas is currently in the 101 obedience class, and I can’t say enough good things about the instructors, Corey and Ellen. They are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and encouraging. Every week I leave class feeling more confident in my ability to work with Atlas. The way they can show just one small adjustment that makes all the difference is amazing 🤯.What I appreciate most is how supportive Corey and Ellen are — not just of the dogs, but of the owners too. They make learning fun and uplifting. I even brought my granddaughter to class one evening, and they took the time to show her techniques, encourage her, and make her feel proud of herself. It was such a heartwarming moment.I truly look forward to class each week because of the positive environment Corey and Ellen create.
I had a great experience at Southern Tails! The trainers really put into perspective how dogs think and learn and I’ve truly enoyed building the bond with my dog. I read some reviews that mentioned the class covers things you could easily teach the dog on your own (sit, stay, etc). I have a working line German shepherd who did master the direct command very quickly. However I found the class provided so much more enrichment than that. The trainers Caroline and Ellen did a wonderful job adjusting the training style for each type of dog. They also introduced our dogs to other elements that they may not typically encounter. While my girl is easy to master a command, she is slightly shy and reactive and they taught me a lot about managing that behavior, redirecting anxiety into something positive and creating a neutral attitude towards unknown elements. I have more work to do with her outside of class to ensure what I learned here sticks, but we will certainly be back for the advanced puppy class. Thank you!
This is our 2nd class. The trainers/instructors are great. The curriculum is very good. The homework assignments really help the dog and owners achieve their goals. Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful.
My pups are always treated well at Southern Tails! We enjoy the training classes and the hands-on activities for the dog and human. Love working with Ally, Gary, Corey and Ellen.
Absolutely LOVE this dog school. The staff are kind, patient, and informative! I’m a first time dog owner and brought my golden retriever puppy to their Best Puppy Class and learned so much! Our trainer Caroline even let me stay after class a few times and ask questions about how to deal with some specific issues I was having. My pup and I really enjoyed learning and working together, so I’ve already signed up for the next Advanced Pup Class! HIGHLY recommend.
