This dog park in Ashburn, Virginia, is especially popular on weekends,, but early mornings and weekdays provide a quieter experience. Families appreciate the kid-friendly environment and free parking lot, though you may need to get there early as spots can fill up. Please note a portion of the park may occasionally be under construction, and portions of the trail may be muddy after rain, so consider this when planning your visit. With rental facilities, water access, and gorgeous walking trails, it’s a top spot for dog owners and families alike.
Such a nice area for hiking & paddle boarding! A portion of the trail/area is under construction still (so you can’t hike around the entire reservoir) but what is open is worth visiting. I’ve only been on weekends and it’s not too busy early mornings. Paddling on the water is peaceful – worth the small fee to enter the water. The Mt Hope Rd parking lot can fill up fast but there is ample parking on the road in.
Nice trails, though muddy and coukd be mulched, and beautiful facilities and dock. I hope to do the full 7 mi loop sometime when conditions are better and I am in town. The rock crusher was particularly interesting. I bet it has a story and I wish there was more information about its history.
Great trails and good for all ages. Can’t wait to do the whole 7 miles.
We absolutely love walking here and renting the kayaks! It’s well maintained and there are lots of trails to venture through. The picnic areas that are available to rent are absolutely gorgeous. It gets busy on the weekends but is nearly empty during a weekday. Watch out for ticks, even staying on the trails.
