🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Edgar Tillett Memorial Park is a welcoming pet-friendly park located in Ashburn, VA, known for its spacious fields, dog-friendly hiking trails, and accessibility for all visitors. This park offers easy access to the Beaverdam Reservoir trails, making it a popular spot for those seeking outdoor adventures with their dogs. While there isn’t a dedicated fenced dog park area, leashed dogs are always welcome throughout the park and on the trails. The large parking lot and multiple trash bins help make visits convenient and tidy.
The park features amenities suited for the whole family, including a baseball field, public restrooms (note: may be locked seasonally), and a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking. The open green spaces and pet-friendly trails are ideal for a relaxing walk, but visitors should be prepared for some steep terrain and muddy conditions after rainfall. With scenic views and its strong local reputation, Edgar Tillett Memorial Park stands out as a great outdoor spot for dog owners in Loudoun County.
Poorly designed for families and softball/baseball. Be prepared to walk up some steep hills. At least one of the fields doesn’t have a shaded dugout, which is unacceptable.
Loudoun County Parks and Recreation are some of the best parks in the State.
Well maintained and nice aluminum bleachers
Did not use bathrooms may be locked
Great place to park to cut through to the reservoir paths and geocaches, especially during reservoir renovations that may have limited or closed the other parking lots. must have taken only side trails or something, as I do not recall seeing any signage that would help people navigate to the main path around the reservoir.
Lots of nice fields. Lots of people were practicing batting or tossing a ball around. Good-sized parking lot with decent-sized spots. Multiple garbage cans up top by parking, which is helpful. They were very full. Was there on a Sunday afternoon; hoping they get emptied on Mondays.
Lots of stairs or very steep slope to get from parking down to the ball fields. Fortunately, you could drive down and drop someone off if you needed to – if you aren’t there solo – but I didn’t really look into the turnarounds or if there was handicapped parking down on that level.
Frustrating to have a bathroom building there that is locked and inaccessible 😡 At least one star off for that. People go hiking all year round and need bathrooms all year round. Writing this near the beginning of March. Please at least add a Port-A-Potty up by parking that is accessible (both handicapped accessible and unlocked) year-round.
I go here to get to the reservoir, but it is not one of the better locations. The trail down to the water is overgrown and often muddy. There are very few fishing locations in this vicinity either.
