There are designated signs marking the dog beach area, and even then, access is limited to certain hours—starting around 6:30, I believe. I understand that not everyone is responsible, and yes, some people leave behind a mess. But it’s unfair to treat all dog owners the same way.

We have a small dog, and there’s only so much we can do. If we leave our dog in the car, it’s unsafe. If we tie them up outside, people complain or even confront us. This system feels unreasonable and poorly thought out.

Frankly, these rules need to be reviewed. It’s disheartening that while dogs face bans, people are allowed to litter, damage property, and behave recklessly on the boardwalk with little to no consequences. Why are we holding dogs and their owners to a higher standard than some of the humans here?

I love this community, but I have to say—I’m disappointed in how Asbury Park is handling this.

We walk the boardwalk often and enjoy the atmosphere 80 degrees no wind feels like the humidity is building. Beach scattered with early visitors. Boardwalk has the usual walkers joggers and bike riders. This is promised to be a hot one today

Don’t go here during the day mind you it says dog friendly but when arrived we were kicked off the beach because it’s only for service dogs. Even though when you search beaches says dog friendly. And mind on vacation with my puppies in a so called dog friendly area and here you could let them run around freely but to find out they had to be on a leash and confined and then this lady walks up and tells us to get off the beach ruined our vacation.

Great place to bring the pups off season. Dogs are not permitted on the beach until after 6:00 pm in the summer months.

My water-hating corgi loved running around on the beach and had the best time!
