The heart of the Jersey shore with a rich history of music. The beach is very well maintained, with regular grooming during in season. Having a number of different restaurants on the boardwalk gives visitors options to enjoy a cozy drive bar or date night. 8th street is dog friendly during the summer – with the entire beach being dog friendly in the off season.

Lovely beach with some big black rocks at few places gives quite beautiful backdrop for pictures and a good place for fishing too. Boardwalk is not too big but enough bto spent a evening with sone bars and other shops.

There is a first time for everything. My spouse wanted to take a day trip to the beach and she came up with Asbury Park as the option. About 1.5 hours from my home, I figured why not.
It was a great beach day with the weather around 82 with a slight breeze but the sun was very warm. We found parking rather easily as there are hundreds of street parking spots and public lots to use. Street parking uses an APP for parking so be prepared to download it upon arrival. Beach tags are 9$/person on the weekend for a daily pass. It was a jam packed beach but we found a spot amongst the crowd and settled in. There are lifeguards in duty which is nice and the beach sand was clean. It’s not a huge beach like wildwood so space is limited and you won’t be able to play a large soccer game or fly a kite. They did have a few volleyball games set up in what seemed like a designated area. If you have kids, they also have a few playground areas on the beach for them to play in.

The boardwalk is small compared to wildwood and ocean city but still has a shore like feeling. They have restaurants, food trucks, and other eateries and some shops. Don’t miss the Retro Arcade which of course is my favorite.

They even have a splash pool are for the kids for an extra fee.

Overall the experience was a great time for a day trip. I would go back again.

Pardon my pics, I tried to black out all the kids in the splash park pics. It’s only included to show what it looked like and keep privacy of families.
