Eddie Zipay Recreation Field is a small, local space in Archbald, Pennsylvania, now often used by nearby residents as a community spot for dog owners. While originally developed as a baseball and softball field for younger athletes, its fenced-in area has become a favorite dog-friendly place for those seeking a convenient community dog park in Archbald. Please note: Official signs state that dogs are not permitted, although the space is still used as a de facto dog park by neighbors.
Visitors enjoy the open space for pets to play and socialize, although there are reminders to respect official restrictions and always clean up after dogs. A nearby playground makes it a multi-use spot that can accommodate families with children and pets looking to enjoy time outdoors. While not a formal dog park, its local, neighborhood feel and existing fencing make it an accessible option for responsible pet owners in the area.

Nice to see the field finally make it to Google maps. It was my personal playground growing up and now there seems to be a nice playground right next by. Sad to see the field used as a dog park though by the residents living nearby, even though it is clearly marked with multiple signs saying “no dogs” at least have the decency to pick up after your mutts.
Back in the day though, the back woods were fun to explore. Didn’t check to see if the old bat houses were still around. Good times decades ago.
