This was one of the best overall parks and disc golf courses in the vast surrounding area but due to the pine beetles attack on the trees and then the full force of hurricane Helene the park is still not fully open. We are hoping to get the disc golf courses back up in 2027, maybe one of the courses in 2026. The army Corp of engineers has a lot to say about what gets done and when.

Clean beach area, very well maintained county park. Boat/waverunner rentals right by the beach.

Absolutely loved this place. The only downfall was when we arrived, the bath house for our campsite was out of order . We had to drive to the large boat ramp to use the restroom and to another campsite to shower. It was finally fixed the last day we were there. Other than that, the water was clear enough to see my feet about a foot or so out. It was quiet all the time. Loved the picnic area. There was plenty of shade for my family and I to enjoy. Next time, I hope we have a camper instead of just tents.
