This pet-friendly trail offers wide, well-maintained gravel paths ideal for dog owners and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Spanning approximately eight miles out and back, the trail runs alongside a beautiful river and boasts unique attractions such as historical furnaces, a swinging bridge, and the stunning Jackson Falls—a rare double waterfall, making it a memorable walk for both humans and their canine companions.
Rock Furnace Trail is well-regarded for its peaceful setting, natural beauty, and suitability for families, including those with children and dogs. Although parking can be challenging due to small lots, a second parking area is available nearby. The trail provides ample opportunities for exploring, hiking, and enjoying quality time outdoors with your pet.
Well maintained, wider gravel trail with stream and multiple small and large waterfalls.
Beautiful quiet trail with a beautiful river alongside it. The parking is ruff, small too, but there’s also a second down the road. The trail is bumpy and hilly, not for people who have trouble walking. For those who can it’s great excerise. There’s also a bridge which is fun.
Love, love, love. Rail to trail is approx 8 miles out and back. Many off shoots to hike/bike! Beautiful waterfalls and scenery!
The Rock Furnace trail is one of a kind. There is a swinging bridge, a furnace built in 1825 and a very unique waterfall called Jackson Falls along the trail. The waterfall is unique because it is a double waterfall. The trails are wide and clear for easy walking or mountain biking. There are some hills along the trail. This trail is popular so you may run into some people along your journey. Also it’s a great place to walk dogs.
It’s hard to make the right hand turn to the little parking area. I actually turned around this last time, so i could better see to get into the small lot. Great trail to walk. Nice surfaced wide trail. It was worth the drive there. Not too many other people there. Can’t wait to come back and explore the area more.
