Roaring Run Trailhead is a scenic dog-friendly park located in Apollo, PA. It offers a natural setting ideal for enjoyable walks and outdoor activities with your dog.
Beautiful spring day. Love all the flowers, honeybees and butterflies. Water is lovely too. Well maintained trail with friendly people.
Awesome trails for all ages! Lots of parking in main lot or upper lot. The lower lot closes at dusk. Portable clean restroom is available at this trailhead. Launch spot for kayaks is accessible from lower lot. The main land trail is crushed rock and suitable for walking or an easy bike ride. There are several trailheads off of the path through the woods for hiking or moutain biking. Beautiful covered bridge less than 2 miles from the trailhead. Very well maintained and clearly labeled trails. Definitely a must visit if you’re in the area.
One of my absolute favorite places to visit. The views are always breathtaking, there are rarely lots of people. A great place for my dogs to join me. There are tons of options for places to explore at different levels of difficulty. Most times I go, I rarely see any other people. There isn’t cell service so keep that in mind.
pretty, flat, uneventful trail along the river, which is nice! the furnace trail is a slight elevation, and supposedly, the waterfall is on private land, which I didn’t notice until my way back (because i turned before the waterfall trail and hiked up the creek)
A not so exciting trail for avid hikers. id consider it a relaxing stroll.
The whole family (ages 70 – 1.5) had a great time here on a warm July day. In addition to all the useful information in other reviews, my advice (on a hot day) is to wear water shoes and access the streams that feed the river. It’s easiest near the covered bridge. Cold, clear water perfect for a wade or dunk. The little ones (1.5, 2.5, & 5) were fine getting down to the creek on a path upstream of the bridge.
The trail is in excellent condition and there are many benches along the way for rest, snacks, general relaxation.
