Virginia Park is an Old West Side gem. The playground is shaded most of the day and the donated toys in the giant sand box are loved by many.

Near the playground are a station to get poop bags for the many dogs walkers that come through, as well as a water fountain complete with a dog bowl for thirsty pups.

There’s a baseball diamond, a basketball court, and a soccer pitch, as well as a few picnic tables in various spots.

Nice little park in my in-laws neighborhood.

There’s something about this park that is greater than the sum of its parts. People also let their dogs run wild here, which for me is a big plus. They also have one of those old school concrete turtles. Big points for that. 4.987654421 stars out of 5. Deducted points because one time I did not see a dog here.

Beautiful fall views in this neighborhood park. I know that the movie “Flipped” took scene and made their movie cover in this park from social media. There is a mini ladder next to the tree and easier for people to climb and take photos!
