Angel Fire Dog Park, located in the picturesque setting of Angel Fire, NM, is an inviting spot for local dog owners and visitors looking for a welcoming place for their pets to play and socialize. This dog park stands out for its incredible views of northern New Mexico and its thoughtful design, offering two distinct sections for both large and small dogs. Pet owners note the abundance of toys and tennis balls, providing plenty of entertainment for energetic pups. With easy access via the sports complex turn, this pet-friendly trailhead is perfect for letting your dogs stretch their legs while you take in the mountain scenery.
The dog park features fenced areas to ensure dogs can roam safely off-leash. While the large dog area contains mulch for durability, the small dog space offers more grass, creating suitable environments for various dogs’ preferences. Waste stations with poop bags are available, making cleanup easy and keeping the park pleasant for everyone. Seating is provided so owners can relax as their pets play, and shade or covered shelter ensures comfort even on sunny days. If you’re exploring dog-friendly hiking in Angel Fire or just passing through town, this park is an excellent stop for a break and some canine fun!
This dog park was alright. If you need a spot to let your dogs stretch their legs it’ll do. But the large dog side is all big pieces of mulch. So my dogs had a hard time running around. The small dog side has more grass, but there were pups in there so we didn’t join them. It’s also a bit hard to find. Google took me to the wrong place. But there were poo bags and many tennis balls available so that was nice.
Pros:
– toys and balls so we didn’t have to bring our own 🎾
– two separate dog parks for big/little dogs 🐾
– great view! 🌄
Cons:
– directions were wrong (took us to the school instead of the park ➡️ turn at sports complex 🗺️
– grass was high but so were we 🍃
New park but nice
