Anderson Beach is a popular outdoor spot in Anderson, Missouri, offering pet owners a spacious, river rock beach for walks with their dogs. Known for its natural beauty and accessibility, this dog-friendly area welcomes families and their pets to enjoy the scenic views, swimming, and floating opportunities along the river. Ample parking is available, though it can get busy on summer weekends, making it a favorite among locals for a quick getaway or kayaking adventure.
While there are no fully fenced areas or designated small and large dog sections, the area is loved for its open space, pet-friendly hiking, and access to water for swimming or play. Visitors ask that everyone helps keep the beach clean, as trash cans are limited, and bringing your own waste bags is recommended. With its blend of natural beauty and recreational options, Anderson Beach is a top pick for dog owners seeking adventure on the water or a relaxing walk by the river.

This was a great little spot to put in for a short afternoon float Memorial Day 2023. The beach it’s self is pretty large with plenty of parking though it is quite busy on summer weekends and while there are some no littering signs they aren’t effective. There is almost always enough water here to enjoy though it was a little lower than normal for this time of year. It’s a short float to Lanagan City Park that we stretch out to around 4 hours. Not very technical during average flow and great for kids on their ride on top kayaks. We did portage a couple spots but never more than 10yds. There is a bit of a mess of trees and such at the Oscar Talley Rd brigde which took a little bit caution but for the most part it was perfect. You’ll have to shuttle yourselves though but the put in and take out are less than 10 minutes apart. One last thing of note is that a train track rolls along the creek there and we experienced 3 trains that day which were really quite loud but they didn’t last too long.
