Located in the heart of Alvarado, Texas, The RV Resort offers a pet-friendly environment ideal for RV travelers with dogs. This resort provides guests with convenient amenities like a dog park, making it a great option for families and pet owners looking for a relaxing stopover. With its concrete pads, covered spots, and helpful on-site staff, the park is designed for both comfort and accessibility.
Guests appreciate the easy navigation for large vehicles and the overall cleanliness of essential facilities such as the bathhouse, which includes private showers and a handicap-accessible unit. The resort is situated near multiple RV dealerships with minimal road noise, making it both practical and peaceful. Pet owners can enjoy the dedicated dog park area, perfect for letting their furry friends burn off energy during long travels.
Bath house was very clean. There are 3 private showers, one for handicap.
Great place to camp.
The park itself is nice, all concrete, covered spots available, dog park, pool laundry etc. The problem is that my girlfriend committed suicide in my camper while I was staying there. Adding to my grief and suffering, the owners of the park evicted me due to “police activity”! We weren’t fighting, causing a scene, playing loud music, dealing drugs, I called 911 because she ended her life! Very traumatic day, and zero care from the owners! Don’t plan on calling 911 if you’re there, you’ll be kicked out and moving with their eviction notice! Absolutely horrible experience during the worst time of my life!
I broke my foot and was looking for a nice place to recoup after surgery. As a full time RV-er, I was extremely disappointed after calling them at least three times. The person answering was very nice but said I need to talk to the manager who was never available and never returned my calls. At the time they had 77 open and available sites. Extremely poor customer service at the manager level.
We stayed here for five weeks. Our site was an uncovered pull-thru. Kim, the office manager, and John, the maintenance technician, are both very friendly and helpful. We liked the park’s location and found it very easy to navigate through with a large RV.
The site was long enough to easily accommodate our F250 and our 40-ft 5th wheel. The sewer connections are at the rear of the site, so we needed to bring out our longest hoses in order to reach the waste valves at the front of our rig. I feel that the pull-thrus are a little closer together than I prefer. Our sewer connection was very close to our neighbor’s picnic table. If you prefer more space between you and the next RV, you may want to choose one of the back-in sites.
The laundry room has three front-load washers and three dryers. Payment is by card only, and the card readers can be very temperamental, especially on windy days. We had just come from a park that was very diligent about wiping down their machines twice a day, so I was disappointed that the washers were often dirtier than I am used to.
Although generally a nice park, I think that it is a little overpriced, especially since there is no cable service and the Wifi is only free for a limited period of time. Future guests may also want to know that paying with a credit card will result in extra fees. For a monthly rate, those fees increased our payment by about NULL.
So overall, it’s a decent place and a good location. However, the office is usually empty, but they office folks do respond and communicate quickly (almost like they are “remote hosts”). The local maintenance guy was very helpful and knowledgeable as well. We stayed over a week and got to experience the fun storms of Texas. Close to multiple RV dealerships, very little road noise, and adequate space. I used the pool, the Hot Tub was not working and was the same temp as the pool (which was fine as it was 95 degrees out), pool/hot tub could use a cleaning but was useable for sure. Feels like a “long term” atmosphere as I saw a lot of folks that have been there for awhile.
