Located in the heart of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Cedar Creek Parkway West Dog Park is a spacious and well-maintained destination for dog owners in the Lehigh Valley. Known for its friendly community vibe, this dog park offers ample room for pups to run and interact while owners enjoy socializing with fellow dog lovers. The park is wheelchair accessible and is situated near baseball fields and picnic areas, making it a convenient outing spot for the whole family. Park amenities include benches for seating, shaded areas to keep cool, and a single-gated fenced area where dogs can play off-leash. Families will also appreciate the proximity to public restrooms and picnic tables.
While there is plenty of open space and well-behaved dogs frequent the area, it is important to note the park has only a single fence at entry. Visitors are advised to be vigilant when entering and exiting, especially with energetic dogs. On weekends during soccer season, parking may be limited as the area can serve as an event lot, so checking local Facebook updates is recommended. Although there aren’t dedicated poop bag dispensers, dog owners are expected to clean up after their pets, and trash bins are available onsite. This dog park is a popular choice among pet parents seeking a safe and sociable environment in Allentown.
The third part is like a neighborhood. Everyone takes care of one another and their dogs. It’s got shade. It’s got benches. There is only one fence, however. It does not have a two fence system to get in and out so if your dog is Squirrley. You have to be a little more careful. There is a bucket of balls for us all to share And you will get hounded if you don’t pick up your poop.
It’s important to note that on weekends during soccer season occasionally the park is used as a parking lot for soccer tournaments. There’s a Facebook group that you can join in order to know when this happens. It’s not often, but it is inconvenient if you rely on the park
Great park! Super friendly and fun! Well behaved dogs at the dog park!
Spacious, well maintained, easily accessible space for the pups. Have been here a few times since moving to the area, it is one of probably four dog parks in the valley that we have sampled. In addition to, they’re always being plenty of other animals for my dog to socialize with, there are also always other adults that I strike up conversations with. The only thing keeping this dog apart from getting five stars is its lack of dual fences in the entryway, I don’t know in corrections. I believe they call it a “sally port” where one door shuts before the other door opens so no one can escape. So, you just have to be vigilant and make sure your dog doesn’t get away before the gate is closed behind him, or worse yet that you don’t let someone else’s dog escape while you’re trying to leave.
Took my dog here for the first time and didn’t even get his leash off before he was attacked by another dog. Owners were clear across the park. Not a friendly park. Do not go here.
This is a HUGE dog park! Only one entrance and it isn’t a double entrance like other dog parks. I don’t see poop bag dispensers. And only 1 trash inside the park and one on the outside.
