Great park for pickleball, space for kids to play and an awesome splash pad for kids in summer. Nice pavilion and bathrooms very nice. There is basketball and a work out station.
Never had a bad experience here. My kids love it and it seems well kept.
It’s clean friendly plenty of space to walk around and enjoy an afternoon
Great park. Something for kids of all ages. The sand area is cool but the toy diggers were pretty broken down.
Very thankful for the 40 acre park with playground and ball fields at the Allendale Community Park. This is a great place for group gatherings and events, birthdays and graduation parties, and a fantastic place to take the whole family on a hot day for a picnic and splash pad play time.
However, many problems and issues exist with water related systens here in the spring of 2023 and will hopefully be addressed soon. For example, the pressure regulator on the drinking fountain at the picnic shelters is either missing or non-operational, causing it to shoot a powerful jet of water over 20 feet into the air (dangerous if you put your face over the drinking fountain before opening the valve to get a drink). One of the toilets in the men’s restroom runs continuously, even after vigorous pounding on the cinder block wall in attempts to get the vacuum breaker to reset. Multiple stations in the splash pad show neglect of their wear items such as leaking bushing in parts that rotate causing diminished working pressure like the water canons, overhead tip buckets that should drop water but either don’t fill or the bucket is broken, etc. This leaves 80% of the splash pad that works great, but 75% of the stations with moving parts are non-functional. Hopefully everything will be good to go once a balance of labor and consumable parts is established for maintaining the great resources here.
