What a nice park! Ball field, tennis courts, bathrooms with running water, greenspace, playground & walking track! Saw a free concert! Nice!
Needs some TLC. The tennis courts are in shambles and the sidewalk/path could use paving/resealing. Also the gazebo could use some help. I like this park but it needs some attention.
Simple park with few people. Has a small pavilion with picnic tables. Nicely mowed with good shade!
John Riel Park features a 0.30 mile walking track, a pavilion with picnic benches, a large playground, a fenced in-line hockey rink, and several benches for sitting and enjoying the many trains that pass by on two sides. It is clean and safe (as far as I can tell) and can be quite active on sunny weekends. The walking path is in good shape, but is not cleared in the winter.
This park has added 4 (free) pickleball courts (along with 1 tennis court) to the playground and nice walking path! Very excited!
P. S. There is no shade though. Bring water and sunscreen!
