It was an honor to walk this beautiful trail two days while on my trip. The trail had great signage even though it was my 1st time I was able to go through the trail and know my way back without getting lost. There are many tight spaces between walkers and bike riders, so be careful for that. Enjoy take in all of the environment that this trail presents.
I love this trail. Easy trail with little to no elevation or incline. Huge free parking lot available. Dog friendly. Both cyclist & walking friendly. Paved. Close walk to the town for shopping & food.
Beautiful scenery. You’ll get to enjoy the water, birds, and airplanes.
The trails are clean and well-maintained, offering breathtaking views. There are parking lots available nearby for convenience.
Scenic trail. Great for biking/running/walking without worrying about cars and navigation. We started at Old Town Alexandria at Pendleton road and ended crossing Memorial Bridge to the Lincoln Memorial. Stopped at Grovely Park to watch the planes. Total trip about 1 hour.
Scenic trail for biking, running, or walking that connects to many points of interest. Started at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge then biked South thru Belle Haven. Most of the trail ran parallel to the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Plenty of parking, picnic areas, views of the Potomac River, and restrooms along the trail. This leg of the Mount Vernon Trail is more of a nature trail rather than an urban trail.
