This is a very nice little park. If I lived in the area I’d be here often. There’s a nice side of history too and to my surprise there was not that much graffiti. Well taken care of and seems the people in the area are respectable.

Beautiful park! Almost stepped on a snake down by the stream and little waterfall. A bunch of nice ruins throughout on our little 1.3 mile meandering loop around the park.

Lock Ridge Park is an amazing spot for graduation photos, family portraits, and even weddings. The stone castle-like furnace and surrounding structures give it a unique and historic charm, especially in the spring when the bluebells (grape hyacinth) are in full bloom — making it perfect for capturing beautiful photos.
The park also offers hiking, biking, nature study, and limited fishing along Swabia Creek, along with a pavilion available for private events. If you’re into history, the Lock Ridge Furnace Museum offers guided tours on weekends (May to September), sharing insights into the area’s industrial past.
Photography and wedding permits are required, so make sure to check their website for details. Highly recommend visiting — it’s a hidden gem for both nature lovers and photographers!
