🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Santa Fe Village Dog Park is a welcoming, off-leash dog park located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This popular spot features a large, open area for your furry friends to run, socialize, and play, making it a top choice for local dog owners looking for safe, dog-friendly spaces. The park is particularly appreciated for its ample room, friendly atmosphere, and dedicated sections for both large and small dogs, ensuring a comfortable environment for all breeds and sizes.
Dog owners will enjoy convenient amenities like a water station—perfect for hot New Mexico days—and street parking near the entrance on Bogart Street. The park is adjacent to Santa Fe Village Park, where families can find a playground and ball fields, making it a great destination for the whole family. While the park is mostly open and can get a bit noisy due to the nearby Unser Boulevard, its lively community, open spaces, and sectioned-off areas make it a standout dog park in Albuquerque.
We enjoy the dog park but can’t play in the small dog side because it is just a dust pit. More wood chips PLEASE!

We like it here! Super friendly people. Kids playing ball in the park next door. Lots of room to run. Sectioned off for big and little dogs. We feel very safe here. Only reason that it’s not a five is because it’s kind of noisy along the busy Unser roadway.

Would give zero stars: Every time me and my partner bring our dog here something bad seems to happen; this last time there were two huge dogs, easily 3-4 times her size, and they basically mauled our 40lb dog, who is super loving and friendly and their owner did absolutely nothing but watch… At this point I don’t I feel safe bringing her back here as we have no idea who/what will be here. Not 5 minutes earlier another dog was attacked by the same dogs and they also had a small child with them. The man whose dog was attacked checked in on us to make sure our dog/we were okay. We don’t suggest bringing dogs under at least 60 lbs or so that may not be able to defend themselves against dogs owned by people unwilling to take action if need be.
