Ouray Dog Park – A Local Albuquerque Favorite for Off-Leash Fun

If you’re searching for a well-loved dog park in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ouray Dog Park offers a spacious, welcoming environment for both residents and visitors looking for a pet-friendly spot. This park features two sizable off-leash enclosures: one for small dogs and one for large dogs, ensuring plenty of room for pups to socialize and exercise safely. Both sections are fenced and equipped with double-gated entries for added safety, making it a great choice for dog owners looking for peace of mind. Although the park is mostly dirt with some wood chip areas, there’s plenty of space for dogs to run, play, and meet new friends.

Visitors enjoy amenities like water spigots (bring your own bowl), shaded spots, ample seating for owners, and agility equipment for smaller dogs (25 lbs or less). The park is accessible by a bumpy dirt road with parking areas assigned to each dog section. Note that while the park is generally well-kept, some users have mentioned areas that could use improvement, such as fence height, weed control, and occasional maintenance issues. Even so, Ouray Dog Park remains a favorite for pet parents seeking dog-friendly parks in Albuquerque with separate areas for large and small dogs, shade, and social opportunities for both pets and their people.

Great sized dog park and usually friendly dogs here! But it is all dirt. There have been piles of wood chips sitting for at least over a year that have never been distributed. Sections are completely overgrown with weeds (nightshade), the fences are FAR too short, and NO ONE obeys the small dog section rules. There is a water spigot, but maybe bring a bowl.

Our Golden Retriever had a jolly good time, she enjoyed meeting new friends, and the kiddie pool! Although she was not able to use any of the fun activities shown here, because the equipment is for 25 pounds or less dogs.

The Quray dog park parking for large dogs is a small area to the left of the park after a bumpy dirt road. Small dog parking seems to just be dirt parking off to the right. The dog park is very large with ample seating for owners. This dog park is split in two, one for small dogs and one for large dogs even though the signs don’t mention it. Both had water, and double gated entrances. The park may also share parking with disc golf so it’s a little hard to figure how many people are there by cars.
