Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Del Sol Park, also known as Twin Parks, is a beautiful open green space nestled in the heart of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Perfect for locals looking for dog-friendly parks, this spot is ideal for pet-friendly walks, picnics, and enjoying outdoor games with your pup by your side. The park features two separate open areas of equal size, providing plenty of room for frisbee, ball games, and relaxing strolls. Its quiet atmosphere and central location make it a favorite in the neighborhood for families, dog owners, and young children alike.
While Del Sol Park doesn’t currently offer dedicated dog park amenities like fenced off-leash areas, agility equipment, or water fountains for pets, it is highly valued for its serene environment and spacious layout. Walking your leashed dog here offers a great way to socialize, enjoy the shade of the few trees, and unwind in a rarely crowded, pet-welcoming space. Although there is no playground or specialized dog area, community members appreciate the neighborhood feel and the opportunity for both kids and dogs to play safely within view.

To add to some of the already posted information, our park is used significantly during soccer season by the youngest soccer player teams probably ages 4 through 10 and block.
I would add also that I proposed a small playground equipment edition with a small dog cage near the tables and seats at the dividing Street.
I heard back from the city that they estimated the cost to be NULL,000 when probably most families could put up similar facilities in the park for less than NULL,000. I was asking not for a NULL,000 addition where we have room but adequate play equipment and a place that would hold a few dogs.
I don’t know why this city’s procurement system cannot spend our tax dollars more reasonably. We don’t want to get replaced the twin parks but just to use a small corner for our kids and dogs. Many of us walk there and need a place to rest and for the neighborhood younger kids to get to know each other more regularly. Would appreciate you contacting your city leaders to look into this matter.

This park is a nice open park that’s great for picnics, walking and just enjoying the outdoors. There are two parts to it about equal length and it was just relaxing to be here.
