Clark Botanical Garden is an oasis tucked away in Long Island. It’s easy to miss, but once you’re there you’ll wished you had visited sooner.
I’ve visited the garden a handful of times now, and each time I’m left feeling refreshed and inspired. There are various spaces throughout the garden depending on what you want to do. You could contemplate philosophies at the rock garden. You could smell fragrant flowers at the rose garden. You could even have a snack near the Clark House and purchase some really cool, vintage books about gardening and horticulture at their gift shop. There really is something for everyone here, and the fact that it is open to the public makes it even more of a gem.
It’s just an overall great place that you can tell is maintained very well. The flower displays are also gorgeous with their vibrant colors and textures. You can tell a lot of people put a lot of care into the property, into maintaining and preserving it. There are also a lot of adorable rabbits roaming free on property which is an added bonus cause they’re adorable!
I highly recommend you visit when you need some fresh air, or a good place to go for a walk.
I loved this little hidden gem on Long Island! I went here for the first time with my gf and we had an amazing time. The wildlife here include the koi and turtles in the pond as well as so many bunnies and chipmunks. Baby bunnies too!! So adorable. The flowers are also amazing, gorgeous and fragrant. I would definitely come back
It was a sunny Mother’s Day and this was a well-kept, free to the public park near Williston Park in Nassau County. Kudos to the funders for maintaining a beautiful park. There were beautiful spring flowers. We missed the tulips though. There was ample parking, many shaded areas, many benches, a couple of ponds. Lovely!
Beautiful, well tended, adequate parking lot, gigantic koi, ton of turtles, occasional garden snake- and the blooms are on the cusp! It’s going to be a fantastic display of nature’s magnificence. Also, the staff are super cool, friendly, and, as the terrain shows us, doing a great job.
Honestly, it is one of the most beautiful little gardens on Long Island. It’s not overbearing and huge – it’s enough for a nice walk or to kill some time in nature. It’s enveloped in trees, so it’s comfortable even on a hot day. I’ve always loved it there, returned after a while today, and it was just as nice as it was years ago. Highly recommended.
