Always an awesome experience! All the regulars have such well behaved socialized dogs. Absolutely the best park with a scenic trail worth the hike! 🐾
I recently visited the dog park for the second time, and it was a pleasant experience overall. The park is a popular spot on weekends, so expect a lively atmosphere with lots of happy dogs and their owners.
The park features a nice pavilion, which is great for some shade, but it lacks trees for the dogs to play around or rest under. There are dog bags and water available, which is convenient, though it would be nice to have a few more amenities.
One of the highlights is the nearby stream where dogs can swim. It’s a fantastic addition, especially for those with water-loving pups. The park itself is divided into half grass and half dirt, offering a bit of variety in terrain.
A heads-up for first-time visitors: the main parking lot is about half a mile away. To save some hassle, keep driving and you’ll find parking closer to the park and the community garden.
Overall, it’s a good space for dogs to run and play, but a few more improvements like trees and better parking would make it even better.
It is a good dog park but due to the weather it was muddy but Button still loves it. You will meet nice people there which is a plus.
Such a cool place only ten minutes from downtown Albany! A short trail from parking lot along the creek to follow for a cool view or swimming for dogs (or humans). Halfway through is a large fenced in dog park, little shade structure with picnic table and open grassy and woodshed area. Next to a community garden. Would love to come back again next time in the area. My dog had a blast 🙂
We usually go to Hartman’s but went to Normanskill instead. Our dog, despite all of the ice and snow absolutely had the time of her life. Especially since she had the park all to herself. My only issue is that she found a flaw in the fencing and got out. Luckily, I happened to catch her.
