This is one of my top 5 Bay Area dog parks, and I visit a number of them. It’s nearly all sand, so I only go when my poodles hair is short – otherwise he’ll track sand into the house. But that may be his hair. Wonderful place, great water for them, large enough to mingle with social people in the front, or scout an area just for you. 2 primary copses on either side separate sight lines and enliven the environment.
So many dog attacks lately due to poor training on owners part. Be careful and do not take your dog here if you believe it to be reactive. This place is popular and crowded at times so let’s keep everything safe and peaceful. Remember any dog attack the owner must by law provide their ID information and phone number.
A great dog park with a large small dog area (and huge big dog area). My adopted dog is a little scared of other dogs so we’ve been coming here sometimes to help him get more use to others. He’s had no bad experiences so far! Owners all seem responsible and mostly pick up after their dog. The location is great and I haven’t had any issues finding parking yet. We live in Oakland but there aren’t any dog parks near us, so we come down here and it’s never too bad to get there even in rush hour. There’s more park-related spaces nearby and of course the bay which is nice to walk along.
Amazing dog park. It’s mostly sandy with some grassy areas in the large dog park. There are shovels to bury holes dogs have digged and a lot of trash cans. Been there about 5 times and always had a pleasant experience. The people we met were nice, offered advice for our puppy, and were attentive to their dogs.
It’s really lovely around sunset there. Most dogs and owners are gentle with my senior blind pug and my bug loves to run with the small dogs in the small dog are and then likes to move to the large breed area to try and play with larger dogs.
We have had very few difficult dog or owner incidences.
The bathrooms are usually pretty clean.
If ever we walk around the grassy areas though I have to muzzle my older blind dog who mistakes the geese poop as snacks. There is a lot of goose poop which can be something to be aware of for picnics in the area. I usually bring a tarp for under my blanket and a spare pair of shoes to put on to get back in the car. But the dog area does have a hose sometimes if you need one. It’s really a lovely spot, especially so during the golden hours at sunrise and sunset. And I rarely struggle to find parking!
