Located on Memorial Parkway, BARC – Akron Dog Park offers a spacious, fenced-in area perfect for unleashing your dog’s energy. This dog park in Akron, Ohio is known for its friendly local community, well-maintained grounds, and amenities designed with both dogs and owners in mind. The park is wheelchair accessible, and there is a free parking lot for convenient access.
BARC features separate areas for small and large dogs, benches for owners, and a water spigot with concrete bowls to keep pups hydrated. The grounds are generally clean, and there are restrooms nearby for owner convenience. A beautiful, dog-friendly hiking trail is also connected, making this spot even more attractive for outdoor enthusiasts seeking pet-friendly trails in Akron.
This park is an awesome place for your dog if you feel like they’ve been inside too much and just don’t have a good yard to run around in. All the other people that bring their dogs here are usually super friendly, as well as their dogs.
I will say though that some things need repaired there, such as one of the benches along the side of the fence. It seems to be pretty damaged and I could see a dog getting stabbed while playing (or even just a person if they aren’t careful). Once that sort of stuff is fixed I would bring this back up to a 5/5 for sure
Great clean dog park with lots of toys and water bowls. My Macho loves to run throughout the gated area.
Nice size park for all size dogs. Clean most of the time, but that’s not on the park some people just don’t clean up after their animals. There are groups of people that think they own the park. Beware they can become very aggressive.
Really a great overall Dog Park in the Akron, OH area. Two separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. Benches for people, fenced, grass, and what I liked the most was a water spigot. The spigot had concrete bowls for dog dishes to clean out and fill with water. Good group of dogs and a cool walking trail nearby which looks beautiful with the fall season foliage. Restrooms nearby if needed.
I brought my trio of Golden Retrievers here and met a wonderful group of fellow dog owners who frequent the park. The park is spacious, well-maintained, and has everything your dogs need to enjoy themselves during your visit.
