Cherokee Park is kinda sad. There is no where close to park, except the 6 parking spots.
The baseball diamond is gone and grown over.
Everything they promised for this park, never got developed. They promised volleyball courts and a skate board park. That was years ago when they closed Michigan Avenue to develop the park. The two water fountains were on and working which was nice. This park could use some updates and some flowers.
Amazing park I always go here. It has a lot of people a whole basketball court tennis court. It’s a beautiful place.
They still haven’t bothered to turn on the water fountain. COVID was three years ago and I have asked many times when it will be back in and it’s still not. This is a public amenity.
Good park for kids of all ages. Has a balance beam. And lots of slides. And swings! Lots of fields to play in and very near to an area with a pond and water fountain.
Full disclosure, it’s my 3 year old that loves it, not so much me. Nothing wrong with it, just more aimed at the kids. Generally clean, lots of slides and things for kids to play, run, climb up and jump off. Plenty of open space for kids to run around. Close to home, which is a big plus.
